Product Description

Purpose

The ability of a coating film to resist indentation deformation, under specified conditions, is measured by the ratio of the time required for a pendulum with a defined weight and amplitude to oscillate across the coating film, compared to the time needed for the same pendulum to oscillate across a glass plate under identical conditions. This ratio is expressed on a scale from 0 to 1.

Suitable for testing the resistance to deformation on single- or multi-layer coatings of paints, colorants, varnishes, and related products.

(1) Pendulum length: 500 ± 1 mm; total mass of the pendulum: 120 ± 1 g.

(2) The steel balls meet the specifications of 8CⅢ as specified in GB308 standard.

(3) Stopwatch: Resolution of 0.1 s. (Bring your own)

2. The test must be conducted at a temperature of 23±2℃ and a relative humidity of 50±5%.

3. The QBY model features stopwatch counting, while the QBY-Ⅱ model offers automatic counting.
