Applications

It is used to determine the time (in seconds) for asphalt or other petroleum products to flow out from the Engler viscometer under certain temperature and volume conditions, compared to the time (in seconds) for distilled water to flow out at 25°C. This ratio represents the Engler viscosity of asphalt or other petroleum products, measured in Engler degrees. Note: The temperature of distilled water and the volume of the receiving bottle may vary slightly when testing other petroleum products.
